Before and Almost After!

I am on a mini-staycation this week starting today and so I must update for all my blog followers!  Or maybe just for posterity.  Anyhoo it is a beautiful day for...staining the deck - ahhh, the joys of homeownership.  There is something monotonously soothing about painting.  At least there is no scraping involved.  The only scraping that needs to be done is the old upper wood soffit that we elected to keep - it had been covered by vinyl for many many years and does not require that much scraping.  However, now since our house is soooo tall it requires ladders.  Dan has already installed a hook to tie off a harness to so he can hang the new fascia boards.  No complaints here - I'm all for safety.

Speaking of safety - let's remember why we started this project.  Oh right, the Snoqualmie River in our yard!  Marcel watching the water rise...

Now, for a little trip down memory lane.  Ahh summer demo days!

Back when the soffit was closer to the ground.  Why did we not scrape and paint at this time?
